White Elephant Aspen Names Justin Todd as Managing Director
Ahead of its much-anticipated opening in late fall 2025, White Elephant Resorts has appointed Justin Todd as Managing Director of White Elephant Aspen, effective January 13, 2025. With more than two decades of experience in luxury hotel management, Todd will draw on his extensive knowledge and deep connection to Aspen's hospitality scene to deliver extraordinary guest experiences, reflecting White Elephant Resorts' signature flair for service, style, and unmatchable hospitality.
"We're thrilled to welcome Justin to the White Elephant Resorts collection. His impressive track record in luxury hospitality and in the Aspen community is invaluable as we introduce our winning blend of sophisticated, personal service to this iconic resort destination. Justin's leadership will be instrumental in creating a new standard for refined mountain hospitality in Aspen," said Khaled Hashem, President of White Elephant Resorts.
Todd's distinguished career is marked by leadership roles at renowned properties across the American West, including W Aspen, The St. Regis Aspen and The St. Regis Deer Valley, The Little Nell, and Four Seasons Resort Jackson Hole & Residences. Prior to joining White Elephant Resorts, he served as General Manager at the Aspen Meadows Resort, where he oversaw a multi-million-dollar guestroom renovation project and played key roles in boosting revenue growth, achieving high employee engagement, improving operational excellence, and enhancing the guest experience.
Located in the city's vibrant West End neighborhood, the 54-room White Elephant Aspen promises a refined yet relaxed mountain retreat. Departing from the town's prevailing Victorian-inspired and log cabin-like architecture, White Elephant Resorts and Boston-based architectural firm EMBARC will inject a dose of modernity in America's favorite outdoor playground. A rich color palette of rust, warm whites and deep charcoals and textures from local materials such as leather, wood, and stone will be featured throughout the spaces. Families and larger groups will appreciate the spacious suites of up to 1,660 square feet, many featuring private balconies and sweeping mountain views.
Adding to the property's appeal is White Elephant Aspen's signature restaurant, Lola 41. This beloved sushi and bistro spot, with sister locations in Nantucket and at White Elephant Palm Beach, is celebrated for its globally inspired cuisine and fresh seafood specialties. The menu draws inspiration from destinations along the 41st longitude parallel, spanning from Nantucket to Japan.
Guests will also enjoy the continuation of White Elephant Resorts' long-standing partnership with BMW, offering complimentary courtesy cars for local exploration and, in winter, a shuttle service to and from the ski slopes—ensuring a seamless day on the hill. In the warmer months, guests can take advantage of the hotel's outdoor pool, explore Aspen's charm on complimentary bicycles, or borrow a BMW to discover the region's natural beauty.
