6 Reasons to Visit Nantucket in the Spring

1. Relaxation: Nantucket is an oasis of tranquility during the shoulder seasons. The crowds and hustle and bustle of summer are far quieter making it easier to leisurely stroll around town on your own time. The rush to make reservations, secure a spot on the beach, and beat the crowd is heavily diminished from that of the peak season. Come summer, Nantucket's population swells by as much as six times its total population!

2. More Affordable Accommodations and Travel: Offseason in Nantucket means cheaper fares for transportation to and from the island. It also means specials and deals on accommodations on the island, keeping money in your pocket for more Nantucket experiences.

White Elephant Resorts offers Spring Specials at each of our Nantucket properties. Please check out our previous compilation of all our Spring Specials, here. You can also visit our respective hotels' Specials page to learn more:

3. Easter Getaway: Take an Easter getaway to one of the most quintessentially idyllic, New England islands and towns. Imagine a more perfect setting for an Easter egg hunt than The Wauwinet's lawn overlooking the beach. Check out The Wauwinet's Easter For Adults special which offers a one night stay, dinner and brunch for two at AAA Five Diamond on-site restaurant, TOPPER'S, and a special adult egg hunt. See the full package details, here.

4. Daffodil Festival: The Daffodil Festival is a weekend packed full of spring festivities centered on rejoicing the arrival of the season. Festivities include art exhibits, wine tastings, an antique car parade, a tailgate picnic, a children's parade, a hat pageant, a dog parade, the Daffodil Regional Shows, and many other events. To see a full schedule line up, visit daffodilfestival.com. The dates fall on April 26-28 this year.

5. Museums and Restaurants Reopen Doors: By late April most of the island has reopened its doors in preparation of the coming season. However, seasonal island residents are largely still off island so it is much easier to make reservations at sought after Nantucket restaurants and island museums are far less crowded.

6. Wine Festival: For five days every year, Nantucket becomes a wine and culinary destination. Over 3000 attendees flock to Nantucket to experience a full schedule of wine tastings, dinner and lunch pairings, and wine seminars from the tutelage of only the best winemakers, chefs, sommeliers, and presenters. Going on its 23rd year, The Nantucket Wine & Food (NWF) festival only gets bigger every year. See our previous blog for more information about the 23rd Nantucket Wine & Food Festival or visit NantucketWineFestival.com.
