Nantucket Insider, Christina Martin, of Nantucket Boat Basin fills us in on her visit to the Palm Beach Boat Show! This year the 30th annual Palm Beach International Boat Show was in West Palm Beach – just across the intracoastal from Palm Beach – at Palm Harbor Marina.
Lots of local Palm Beach area residents and boaters – as well as many from Fort Lauderdale and Miami attended. Also, many from New England came to this show – especially to get away from the winter weather!
Mega yacht charter boat brokers mostly-were among the crowd to show off their boats and book charters and sell big boats as well. All the captains and crews are onboard the boats, greeting and chatting with potential clients and longtime clients. Many in the industry use it as a social time too, it's a great opportunity to stop in and see how your associates are doing. I saw a few of our guests checking out potential new boats!
Top of the line boat manufacturers are at the Plam Beach Boat Show like Hinckley, Ferretti, Pershing, Westport and Azimut.
Several of our friends in the marina circuit were at this boast show; Wayne Kurker, owner of Hyannis Marina, Mark Elliott charter boat broker for IYC (International Yacht Collection), John Smudin CMM who runs Palm Harbor Marina that sponsored and hosted the show, Andrew Schneider of Marinemax who hosts the biannual Azimut Rendezvous at NBB!
It was great to hear of so much interest in Nantucket Boat Basin and Nantucket in general– Nantucket's Hinckley Rendezvous, Race Week, Boston Pops are the big island events everyone is already looking forward to! -Christina Martin, Director of Marina Operations at Nantucket Boat Basin
