Hot sunny days inevitably make us thirsty and what better way to beat the heat than heading to White Elephant's Brant Point Grill, overlooking the cool blue water of the harbor?
New BPG bar tender, Jesse, served Nantucket Insider three of the best beverages to sip in the shade.
One of the most popular cocktails on the menu is the Watermelon Mojito. This drink is as enjoyable to sip as it is to look at. Made with Cruzen rum, fresh lime juice, agave nectar, a house made watermelon juice and a hint house grown mint- Jesse literally plucked the mint from a crop growing just beyond the edge of the bar! This mojito is unique in its' preparation; the mint leaves are shaken with the liquids and strained over ice, so there are no clumps of mint leaf in the cocktail and it also makes the drink a bit quicker to produce!
If you're seeking a cocktail that's cool as a cucumber, the BPG's Coolcumber will surely do the trick. This perfect summer sipper is made with house-made basil-infused cucumber syrup, Hendrick's gin, lemon juice and is then shaken and strained over ice. It is of course garnished with a fresh slice of cucumber.
Nantucket Insider always likes a good go-to mocktail in the summertime and the BPG's signature version is ideal for hot weather, with just the right amount of fruit flavor and a hint of cinnamon for a little kick. The house made syrup for this beverage includes ginger, pineapple, orange peel and cinnamon, and is mixed with fresh lime juice and two ounces of ginger ale. To make this mocktail a cocktail simply add Domaine de Canton ginger liquor.
